Cascadia Running Camp launched last week. And it was magical.
Cascadia is an overnight camp for high school distance runners held at Port Gamble Heritage Park. It combines trail running, mental performance training, nutrition education, and community building.
As a co-founder, I’ve been lucky to witness Director Jena Winger’s vision unfold in real time. As someone who’s been involved in running camps for decades, I see Cascadia fill a missing niche. The debut delivered something special.
We ran and we ate (excellent) food. We camped, played, did art. We listened, learned, wrote. It feels like we lived a life—or at least a week or a month—in each calendar day. Plus, the swag was unmatched.
Photographer Russell Moore wrote an excellent recap here: https://www.russell-moore.com/blog/cascadia-running-camp-2026.
Cascadia Running Camp is a non-profit. Our goal is to increase access to high-quality resources for all distance runners, regardless of gender identity or socioeconomic status. Read more at cascadiarunningcamp.com. Follow along on IG @cascadiarunningcamp.
